Heritagenewsng reports that the newly elected executive of the Nigeria Handball Referees Association has emerged.
At the national election held between recently in Benin, Edo State, Mr Austin Ogu Okpanachi from Kogi state was elected president while Mr Musa Jimoh and Mr Godiya Jazhi were elected first and second vice presidents respectively.
The newly elected secretary General is Somiari George from Rivers State while the assistant secretary General is Ibitoye Alabi from Ekiti State .
Other elected officers were Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor General, PRO, and Provost Marshal.
Shortly after the swearing-in, the Austin Okpanachi led executive of the Nigeria Handball Referees Association reiterated its commitment towards discovering and nurturing up and coming Handball referees in Nigeria as well as improving the status of Referees to International standards including IHF.
Mr Ibitoye Alabi from Ekiti State who is one of the two grade 1 Referees in South West Nigeria is also the chairman of the Handball Referees Association constitution Review Committee.
He was the captain of Ekiti State Handball team for several years before he became handball Referee.
Alabi promised to ensure that Ekiti State Handball develops by exploring all available avenues especially now that he’s in a position of authority as assistant secretary General of the Country’s Handball Referees Association .
