Prof. Adelabu, Fatoba, Elesin Affirmed As APC National Delegates

The members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ado-Ekiti Local Government have affirmed Hon. Olusola Elesin, the APC State Chairman; Prof. Modupe Adelabu, former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State; and Hon. Steve Olusola Fatoba, Member of the House of Representatives, as National Delegates of the party.

While reading out the names of the nominees, Hon. Lucas Toyin, a former member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, described the three nominees as “round pegs in round holes.” He noted that, considering their pedigree and wealth of experience, their nominations were well deserved and justifiable.

The trio are respected leaders of the APC in Ekiti State and Nigeria at large. Prof. Modupe Adelabu previously served as Deputy Governor of Ekiti State under the administration of former Governor, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi. She also served as Chairman of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

Hon. Olusola Elesin, the current APC State Chairman, has held various government positions and served on several committees dedicated to the progress of the party. Hon. Olusola Fatoba, who currently represents his constituency in the House of Representatives (Green Chamber), is the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values.

Hon. Lucas Toyin called on party members present at the Ado-Ekiti Local Government APC Secretariat to indicate their support for the nominations. In response, members in attendance unanimously chorused “YES,” thereby affirming the trio as National Delegates of the party for Ado-Ekiti Local Government.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Olusola Elesin thanked members for their unwavering support for the APC. He stated that Ekiti State remains the first state to adopt the consensus method in selecting candidates for elective positions. He further explained that this approach is in line with the newly amended Electoral Reform Act recently signed into law by the President.
