Ekiti state governor, His Excellency, Dr John Kayode Fayemi, has called on Nigerian police force to fish out the killers of Olajide Sowore, a student of Igbinedion University and brother of activist journalist, Omoyele Sowore, who was killed on Saturday along Lagos-Benin Expressway.
Police and media reports said the younger Sowore was killed by suspected kidnappers who also abducted five others during the attack.
Governor Fayemi in a statement on Monday described the incidence as “unfortunate and saddening” and urged the police authorities to fish out the killers and rescue the abducted five.
“The death of the younger Sowore and indeed several other killings of innocent citizens is a source of concern to me. It is time the security agencies, with the support of the citizens, put an end to this unnecessary wastage of precious lives.
“My sincere condolences to the Sowore family, especially the brother of the deceased, Omoyele Sowore.”
