THE NEED TO ADRESS AIYEKIRE/GBONYIN DEPLORABLE ROAD
Good roads are crucial for economic development, social mobility, and overall quality of life by providing efficient transportation of goods and people, enabling access to essential services like healthcare and education, boosting trade, creating employment opportunities, and improving safety by reducing travel time and accident risks; essentially connecting communities and facilitating growth in both urban and rural areas.
We are writing to you as a concerned youth of Aiyekire/Gbonyin local government area to bring to your attention the deplorable condition of road in our community. Your excellency, We have confidence in your capacity as the governor of our dear state: Should we talk about your impacts in all areas of community and people’s wellbeing? how about your land mark achievements in both public and local infrastructure? Should we talk about your efforts in promoting the state’s economic developments and growth? All of these are some of your notable achievements that are making us to identify with you on the road that connects Gbonyin / Aiyekire local government area of Ekiti state to Ondo state, most especially along ODO ADO, IJAN, ILUOMOBA AGBADO/ IMESI axis.The road is not worth writing home about. Although, there is a clear indication that construction is ongoing there and it is a welcomed development. But it is pertinent to consider the fact that there is every reason to make the construction works reach a reasonable level of success before the *wet season begins.*
A few months ago, serious challenges emanating from bad roads within the same areas resulted in kidnapping, losing students lives especially federal poli Ado student, crashes of vehicular movement, delaying in resident’s mobility and Transportation of goods and services *N.Y.C NIGERIAN YOUTH CONGRESS AIYEKIRE/GBONYIN CHAPTER SAY NO TO ALL THESE BARBARIC SITUATIONS.* Which is why it is of a good concern that adequate measures should be put in place to cushion unexpected challenges that may soon arise when the wet season begins.
It is also important to consider the economic relevance of this particular road. Basically, It serves as the link between Ondo and Ekiti state, and from time immemorial, this road have facilitated effective transportation of goods and farm produce between the two neighboring states.
His excellency, we believe that by ensuring adequate measures, using your position as the Governor of our dear state, the completion of the ongoing construction of road will be achieved.
