Mr. Speaker’s Diary: December 28, 2024 (with photos)

Dear People of Ekiti,

I am pleased to inform you that yesterday, December 27, 2024, I have the privilege of presiding over the plenary where the Ekiti State House of Assembly passed the Year 2025 Budget, a significant milestone in our commitment to your welfare and the development of our community.

The process began with the Governor’s presentation of the budget on October 29, 2024. Following this, our members engaged in pre-budget oversight, leading to thorough debates on November 7, where the budget was committed to committee for detailed evaluation.

We organized public hearings, inviting various stakeholders and heads of MDAs to ensure that diverse voices were heard.

After diligent scrutiny, the Finance and Appropriation Committee presented a comprehensive report to the House on December 24.

The budget was further examined in the Committee of Supply before its final passage yesterday. This budget is not just a financial document; it is a vital tool for driving development, creating opportunities, and improving lives across our state.

I wish to emphasize that thoughtful appropriation is essential for the welfare of our community, ensuring that every naira spent works for the betterment of our citizens.

As we step into 2025, I wish all of Ekiti a prosperous and fulfilling year ahead.

Thank you for your continued support.

Rt. Hon. Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye
Speaker, EKITI STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY
