The Ekiti State Teaching Service Commission has suspended the Principal of Ekiti Baptist High School, Igede Ekiti, Mrs Veronica Yemisi Ilesanmi indefinitely for unauthorized release of the school’s playing ground for a social engagement.
A release from the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Mr Michael Boluwade made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti,said the principal was sanctioned for allowing the use of the school facility in flagrant disregard for the State Government’s policy guidelines contained in circular with Reference Number EK/ED/AD/398/155 of 12th August, 2024.
According to the release, the said circular prohibited the use of facilities in public schools in Ekiti State for any kind of social engagement.
Mrs Ilesanmi was therefore directed to hand-over all the school’s properties in her possession to the most senior Vice Principal of the school, adding that she must not visit the school premises during the period of her suspension.
