No one can console us ! Dirge for Dame Oluremi Oyo

No one can console us ! Dirge for Dame Oluremi Oyo

In shadow’s grasp, I stand alone,
Where once your light, a beacon, shone.
A decade’s sigh, the years unfold,
In silence wrapped, your story told.

Oh, Dame of grace, how swift time flies,
You clothed my heart, you taught me to rise.

With gentle hands, you gave me flight,
A garden of wings in the dead of night.

You shaped my pen, a guiding light,
Through storms of doubt, you held me tight.By your sweet grace, I learned to strive, In every word, your spirit thrives.

When hunger gnawed and shadows loomed,You fed my soul, and hope resumed. In winter’s chill, you wrapped me warm,You shielded me from life’s cruel storm.

No refuge found in this world so wide,
For ten long years, I’ve bared my side.
The void you left, a chasm deep,
In dreams, your laughter haunts my sleep.

Oh, mighty woman, where are you now?
I wander lost, yet take a bow,
For in my heart, your love remains,
A haunting hymn amidst my pains.

Alas, no hands to guide my way,
No voice to soothe the night to day.
Yet still I rise, though my wings are frayed,
In memory’s embrace, your light won’t fade.

So I sing this dirge, with sorrow steeped,
For the one who loved, the one who wept.
Dame Oluremi, though you are gone,
In every breath, your spirit lingers on.

No one to run to,
No one to shelter me in rains,
Left like a fish out of water,
Anti Remi, omo Olokedoba,
Kare ooo.
