Re: Police Declare Ekiti Contractor Wanted, Heritage News Retracts Error

By Gbenga Sodeinde in Ado Ekiti

The online News media, Heritage News has retracted an error unintentionally committed through the publication with the above headline.

It would be recalled that this newspaper published a story concerning the CEO of Suschcris Building Services Engr. Afolabi Adefemi, was declared wanted by the police in connection with a petition written against him.

The Ekiti State police command has said that at no time did they declare Afolabi Adefemi or any other person in connection with the petition they have in their possession.

Further investigation by this reporter has therefore revealed that the respondent who was reportedly invited by the police on several occasions but failed to show up at the police station had however appeared at the police headquarters at Old Iyin road on Thursday, September 19th to respond to the petition written against him by Mr. Femi Odere.

While our story came about as a result of a press conference conducted by the petitioner, Mr. Odere, we have found that the petitioner did not expressly state that Afolabi Adefemi was declared wanted.

Any errors on our part on this matter are regrettable, and we therefore rendered our unreserved apology for whatever damage the erroneous headline could have caused.
