Glizt And Glamour At Year 2024 Udiroko Festival

Udiroko also called Odun Olorunborun is one of the most important festivals celebrated annually in Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti state in the Southwestern part of Nigeria.

Udiroko which heralds the beginning of new year in Ado-Ekiti calendar is usually lined up with different cultural activities and also serves as an avenue whereby relations meet to celebrate together and Year 2024, Udiroko equally took the same dimension.

In fact, this year’s celebration can be said to be more colourful and impressive because of its glizt and glamour.

The festival which was celebrated at the Ewi’s palace witnessed the presence of different cultural groups in their colourful attire.

Among these groups that made beautiful outing at the Udiroko festival were, Ado Heritage, Ado Progressive Union, Ado Dynamic Social club, Erukulele movement, Ado Development Club, Iyalajes, Iyalojas, and other groups.

The members of these groups were well seated at their various stands which was tagged according to their names.

The Ewi-in-Council chiefs were not left out as their colourful dresses added glizt and glamour to the festival.

The Ewi, His Royal Majesty, Oba(Dr) Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III and his Oloris were seen in their beautiful attire.

Everywhere was colourful with different kinds of decorations and banners placed at strategic locations.

Traditional rhythm from Ekiti state cultural troupe helped to keep the festival celebration more lively. Also the appearance of Yoruba Nollywood Actors and Actresses such Muyiwa Ademola, Yomi Fashlanso, Laide Bakare, Tunde Kosoko Sola Kosoko and others added little aura to the event.

Excellency, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, the Senate Leader, Distinguished Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, the former Governor of Ekiti state, Mr Ayodele Fayose, the Deputy Governor, Chief(Mrs) Monisade Afuye, members of the state Exco, members of state and National Assembly, Royal fathers and other dignitaries.
