Philanthropist Supports Commercial Drivers with Free Fuel

Commercial and taxi drivers in Ekiti State have continued to receive petroleum palliatives from one of the leading philanthropists in Ekiti state to cushion the effect of subsidy removal in the country.

The Founder of Opeyemi David Falegan Foundation, Hon. Opeyemi David Falegan gathered that the condition of these motocyclists and commercial drivers was further worsened with the remover of the fuel subsidy across the country.

He lamented that, where motorists charged between #50 and #100 before, now goes between #300 and #500 per drop.

Hon. Falegan added that, with this fuel relief invention program, the general transportation fare in Ado Ekiti and its environs will be a bit subsided for the general public.

However, recently to cushion the effects of subsidy, over 350 okada riders were given free fuel for the fourth time within a year.

The philanthropist contracted some fuel stations to give out free fuel as palliative from his non governmental foundation.

According to his Director General, Comrade Ajibola Samuel “What you are seeing here is just another phase of the petrol palliative to cushion the effect of subsidy removal, and we have been replicating this periodically, he said.

The palliative intervention, which took place at Adekaitan petrol station along Adebayo witnessed unprecedented number of motorists scrambling to gain access to the venue of the free fuel.

Some of beneficiaries, Mr Gbenga Samson appreciated the donor for his usual way of putting succour to the lives of Ekiti people.

He prayed that, God Almighty will continue to enrich him so that he can remember others in the state.

In his own, Mr.Taju Idowu thanked Falegan for giving back to his father’s land despite not been a politician.

Mr Idown added that, others well meaning Ekiti indigenes either at home or in diaspora should emulate his good gesture.
