An Abuja based Advocacy group, Centre for Peace and Self Value Re-orientation, has honoured the Ekiti state Director General, Bureau of Tourism Development, Barr. Wale Ojo-Lanre with an award to further propel him for continuous service delivery with integrity.
Presenting the award to Ojo Lanre in his office in Ado-Ekiti, the Executive Director of the organization, Mr. Abraham Oyibo said the group carefully selected him for the award following the impressively satisfactory report on his activities since his appointment as the DG of the Bureau of Tourism Development in Ekiti.
“From our confidential independent assessment exercise conducted on MDA’S, South West of Nigeria, Bureau of Tourism Development under the stewardship of Barr. Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre, came out very outstanding in the course of the exercise.
“We also gathered with great delight in terms of your performance such as display of ethical leadership, developmental policy performance, public accessibility, service compliance, commitment to the state government transformation agenda, attitude against corruption and obedience to the rule of law.
“Thus having satisfied with the report of the said assessment exercise conducted using opinion polls, questionnaire, interviews with informants and opinion sampling, field assessment, report writing, comment and vote on social media on your activities and performance in our society.
“We are left with no option than proclaiming and inducting you today with the title “Service Ambassador” and presentation of this award “certificate of integrity and stewardship” for scoring 95% cumulative in ten sectors of our assessment, you are hereby declared “an outstanding leader in service”
“This is expected to spur you to do more for your people, and add voice to the ongoing clarion call to reform Nigeria in the years ahead.” the group’s Executive Director added
Responding, Ojo-Lanre who appreciated the group for considering him worthy of the award which he described as a challenge to him not to relent.
The DG therefore promised to continue to do more as this has shown that people were watching him and taking note of his activities and efforts.
“Like I had said, I do not like award, and that is why I questioned you people when you first came to me that you are giving me, award, and when I questioned you, and I was surprised when you started mentioning what you saw in me, and what I have been doing so far within the short time that i became the DG, so I had no option than to accept it.
“With all that you people have listed as criteria for choosing me for the award, I realized that you people were really watching me, and keeping records of all that I have been doing at the tourism bureau in Ekiti. I concluded within me that the award would no doubt serve as a propeller for me to continue to do more. So I thank you very much for the Honour”. Ojo-Lanre added.
