In a strategic move aimed at enhancing economic growth and fostering digital inclusion, Ekiti State Government has announced plans to initiate a comprehensive artisan training program.
The Honourable Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives Mrs. Omotayo Adeola made this known at a strategic meeting with the Special Assistant to the Governor on Artisan matters, Mr. Fadipe and the exco members of the Ekiti State Artisans Association.
The training program which will be held at Government Technical Colleges across the State is designed to provide trade certification and integrate artisans into digital hiring platforms. This marks a significant step towards modernizing the State’s workforce and creating job opportunities for the skilled and unskilled youth population.
Riding on the job creation and youth development pillars of the of Governor Biodun Oyebanji led administration, the initiative seeks to address longstanding challenges faced by artisans in accessing international recognized trade certification and tapping into digital employment platforms. With the launch of this program, Ekiti State aims to equip artisans with the necessary skill sets including value orientation, work ethics and use of modern technology to thrive in today’s competitive job market.
