As Ekiti Ekiti state Governor continued with his act of benevolence, he has again brought tears of joy to Two patients held back at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, over unpaid medical bills, Mojisola Olarewaju and Abosede Alofe.
The two patients heaved a sigh of relief after Governor Oyebanji settled all their outstanding bills yesterday, Wednesday, 2023.
There had been a news report earlier yesterday that both patients underwent surgeries at the hospital but couldn’t go home few months after they have been discharged because they were unable to pay up their bills.
One of the patients, Olarewaju had her two legs amputated in order to save her life while Alofe who had spent one year in the hospital also had a surgery in her leg.
During a visit to the patients where the money for the medical bill was paid, Governor Biodun Oyebanji who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Communiy Communications, Mrs. Mary Omotosho sympathized with the patients.
Governor Oyebanji urged them to keep hope alive and have faith in God who has the power to change every situation.
The beneficiaries and their family members who could not hide their feelings burst into tears as they appreciate the Governor for his kind gesture.
Similarly, the Governor has commenced Payment of Stipend to N7,000 Vulnerable Citizens

In an ongoing commitment to enhance the well-being of Ekiti State’s citizens, most especially the most vulnerable in the State, the Governor Biodun Oyebanji-led administration has initiated a programme to cushion the effect of the painful but necessary removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
♻️ Governor Oyebanji is probably one of the very first Governors in Nigeria to commence the payment
♻️ 10,000 beneficiaries have been meticulously mined from the Social Register in the Ekiti State Ministry of Budget, Economic Planning, and Performance Management.
♻️ Each beneficiary will receive ₦5,000 per month for a period of five months, totaling ₦25,000 per beneficiary .
♻️ 7,000 out of the 10,000 beneficiaries harvested have received their first payment as the first batch.
♻️ The remaining 3,000 beneficiaries in the first batch will be paid soon.
♻️ The following number of beneficiaries were carefully selected from the categories listed below:
1. 559 People Living With Disabilities
2. 3065 Widows with at least 1 dependant
3. 1101 Elders above 65 years old
4. 1153 Youth btw ages 18 – 45
5. 1122 Others randomly selected btw ages 18 -64
