A recently freed Pastor named Omotosho Oluwatobi Innocent has shared his harrowing account of being held captive by kidnappers in the bush, along with other victims.
Recounting his ordeal, the pastor revealed that he was seized near a filling station, alongside the station’s manager and a security guard.
Once in the forest, the abductors inquired about their respective occupations and instructed them to contact their loved ones.
Tragically, the security guard was ruthlessly strangled to death by the kidnappers when he made a plea for help to his brother, who happened to be a chief hunter, during a phone conversation.
According to him, “when the kidnappers came, they picked me beside a filling station alongside the station’s manager and a security man.
When we got into the bush, they asked us about our occupation and said we should call our people. The security man was strangled to death with a rope for telling (over the phone) his brother, a chief hunter, to bring ransom.”
Continuing his narrative, the pastor conveyed that the kidnappers initially demanded a hefty sum of thirty million naira as ransom for their release.
However, after persistent pleas from the victims, the abductors eventually agreed to accept a reduced amount of five million naira.
In his concluding remarks, the kidnapped pastor revealed that on the day his family brought the negotiated sum, the captors handed him a mere one thousand naira and directed him towards a path that led out of the dense forest and back to the road.With this guidance, he managed to find his way home.
The pastor expressed profound sadness over the entire ordeal, as he and the other victims were subjected to severe beatings by the kidnappers until the ransom was delivered.
