Man In Trouble For Defrauding Prostitute of N45,000 In Ondo
According to report, Oluwafemi Damilola, a man from Ondo State, has been presented before a Chief Magistrate Court on allegations of defrauding four prostitutes out of a total of N45,000. The victims claim that Damilola engaged their services for sexual favors and the man proceeded to make payment using a fabricated transaction alert.
According to reports, the matter was reported to the police, leading to Damilola’s subsequent arrest. He was charged with two counts related to fraud and brought before the court for prosecution.
Akano Moremi, the police prosecutor, revealed that the defendant committed the offense in October 2022 within the Sabo area of Ondo town. The charges brought against Damilola were read out in court, accusing him of conduct likely to cause a breach of peace through fraudulent sexual activities with the victims.
The charges stated, “That you, Oluwafemi Damilola, sometime in October 2022, at Sabo Road, Ondo, in the Ondo Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by fraudulently having carnal knowledge of the victims.”
It further alleged, “That you, Oluwafemi Damilola, on the same date, time, and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did indecently assault the female victims by fraudulently and unlawfully having carnal knowledge of them with the pretense of sending them the sum of N45,000 which you failed to do so but willingly sent them a fake alert with the aim of defrauding them sexually and thereby committed an offense contrary to and punishable under Sections 249 and 360 of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Volume 1 Law of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.”
The prosecutor informed the court that five witnesses would be called upon to testify in the case and requested a later date to allow him sufficient time to review the case file.
