EKSU Mourns, Recalls Roles Olu Ajayi Played During Dev. Stage of the University

The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Professor Edward Olanipekun has received with rude shock, the news of the passage of the Odoba of Ado Ekiti, High Chief (Dr.) Alex Olu Ajayi.

Professor Olanipekun described High Chief (Dr.) Olu Ajayi as a great philanthropist and a benefactor of the university who impacted positively on his immediate environment, adding that he would be greatly missed.

The Vice Chancellor recalled the role of the late Chief during the developmental stage of the university by donating his personal property as the Administrative building of the university to ensure its effective take off.

Olanipekun who stated this in a statement signed by the university Head, Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs, Bode Olofimuagun noted that the late Chief was a good community leader and an accomplished public servant who rose to the peak of his career.

While commiserating with his immediate family, the Ewi in Council and the entire Ado-Ekiti community, the Vice Chancellor prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul.

He further prayed that the Almighty God would grant the family and well wishers of the late Odoba the fortitude to bear his passage.

In recognition of his contribution to the development of the university, the late High Chief Alex Olu Ajayi was awarded an honorary Doctorate degree in Public Administration (honoris causa).
