How A 300 Yr-Old Tree Killed A Family of 6
Details have emerged regarding the deaths of 6 members of a family after an unfortunate accident involving a 300-year-old tree.
The eyewitnesses and a relative of the affected victims gave their account of the accident during a visit by Channels TV to Oshimili South, Delta State.
Giving his account of the incident, a male eyewitness said, “There was no chance, as a lot transpired. We tried bringing men on board so that they could help, but my sister-in-law’s was affected by the incident. She was hit on the head by branches of the tree, and her arm and leg were also broken.
“We had to rush her to the hospital because she was unconscious. Thankfully, she was revived at the hospital.
“I discovered that my friend lost his wife and two children in the accident. He also lost his grandchildren. About six people died in that family.
A relative of the deceased added, “We are unhappy about the unexpected incident.
The tree did not collapse while the family was asleep. No, it happened around 6′ o’clock when there was a heavy breeze. The family had to take refuge in their house, but the tree collapsed on the building and killed them there. It is tragic to see such things happen to my relatives.
Channels TV gathered that the tree was already losing its grip on the earth after a flood ravaged the community in 2022 before eventually killing the victims.
