NPC Declares 3-Day Restriction Across Nigeria For Census Enumeration
Nigeria is poised for a nationwide three-day movement restriction as the National Housing and Population Census commences.
The disclosure was made by Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, the Chairman of the National Population Commission, during a meeting with the Diplomatic Corps in Abuja on Thursday.
The census is tentatively scheduled to start on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, and run until Sunday, May 7, 2023, but the start date will only be confirmed after consultations with state governors.
Hon. Kwarra also indicated that the commission will collaborate with the Minister of Foreign Affairs to determine the Diplomatic Corps’ optimal approach to participate in the census.
In a related development, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, spoke earlier, emphasizing the census’s significance in Nigeria’s development.
