EID-EL-FITRI: EKITI DEPUTY SPEAKER FELICITATES MUSLIMS

The Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Hakeem Jamiu, has felicitated with his fellow Muslim brothers and sisters on the successful completion of the 30-day fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

In his Eid-el-Fitri message which he made available to newsmen, he congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the sighting of the moon which signalled the end of Ramadan. Jamiu admonished Muslims to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan which are love, tolerance, perseverance and brotherhood which the holy month signifies.

Jamiu reminded Muslims that the lessons of Ramadan is to enhance their spiritual rebirth which will in turn translate to the spiritual rebirth of our state and country. He enjoined Muslims to exhibit the traits imbibed in the holy month of Ramadan so that our state and country will be a better place for all.

Jamiu added that the spirit of Eid-el-Fitri resonates around the virtues of love and respect not just for God but also for fellow humans, stressing that it is only in the spirit of brotherly love and dedication to national service that Nigerians could build a virile nation.

Continuing, Jamiu said, “We thank Almighty Allah for making us to see the end of Ramadan this year. It is our hope that the lessons learnt shall be put into use and will become our guiding principles in our relationship with Almighty Allah and our fellow human beings”.

“As we celebrate this Eid-el-Fitri, we need to renew our faith in our State and nation and implore the Almighty God to restore to us those values that place high premium on human life, love for our country, love for our neighbour and sharing.

“I therefore wish my Muslim brothers and sisters a happy Eid-el-Fitri celebration and may we celebrate many more of this.”
