Aribasoye Salutes Fayemi’s Unblemished Records, Brands Him Champion of Good Governance

The Chairman, Ekiti House of Assembly Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon Adeoye Aribasoye, has greeted former Governor Kayode Fayemi on his 58th birthday, maintaining that the former Minister parades untainted records of service in governance and politics of the nation.The Lawmaker representing Ikole constituency 2, said it was Fayemi’s enigmatic records of performance that laid a rocky foundation for the current Governor, Biodun Oyebanji to garner stunning achievements within a spate of short time he mounted the saddle of governance in Ekiti.

The Human Rights Lawyer and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, gave the scintillating remarks , in his congratulatory message marking Fayemi’s 58th birthday, on Thursday.

The former governor and ex-Minister, Fayemi, was born on the 9th of February, 1965.

Felicitating Fayemi on his birthday, Aribasoye, described the former Governor as one of the most revered champions of democracy and good governance in Nigeria, whose superlative services had attracted global reckoning like that of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu .

He said Ekiti people and Nigeria will eternally make recourse to the Fayemi’s impressive performances as a two term Governor and Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Lawmaker stated that the maverick former governor’s penchant for excellence, masses-oriented policies and knack for mentorship brought about the emergence of Governor Oyebanji, who is bestriding Ekiti like a Colossus and consolidating on the laid foundation.

He said Fayemi’s thirstiness for mentoring good and acceptable individuals to maturity and spurring them to taking strategic positions in government have started yielding positivities in Ekiti, with the current wave of good governance being experienced under the APC-led government in the state.

Aribasoye posited that Fayemi’s two term reigns in Ekiti would ever remain indelible in annals of history, having scored many firsts and distinguished himself as a leader with unbridled nudge for engendering of masses-centric policies that can reshape destinies, as witnessed during his time.

The lawmaker added that Fayemi’s nose for good governance reflected in many laudable policies and programmes he initiated like the social security scheme, airport project, operation renovate all schools(ORASE), Gender Based Violence Prohibition Law, Food Bank policy,Village kitchens and many others, geared towards alleviating poverty and entrenching equality in the system.

“Let me congratulate our leader and mentor,Governor Kayode Fayemi for clocking 58 today. In fact, your life has radiated peace, love, progress and good manifestations in the lives of those around you.

“I am particularly happy that a mentor like you could emerge from Ekiti to give people a dose of how a modern governance should be. It is no exaggerative to say that your reign in Ekiti had become a reference point.

“Through your charismatic leadership, you were able to entrench a template of how 21st century governance should be. You also raised the bar at the national level as a Minister, where you promoted a hitherto obscured Ministry and launched to a national reckoning as a sector that can drive the economy.

“Ekiti people can’t forget in a hurry, how you and your spouse, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, a woman of substance, added panache to politics and governance in Ekiti and make it a business of all genders.

“Today, it has become a crime for women and girls child to be treated with scorn in our dear state. You were never selfish in governance and that innate capacity catalysed you to give Ekiti a governor, who can sustain the tempo of good governance and makes the state realises its set objectives for the citizens.

“On behalf of myself and family, I felicitate Dr Fayemi on this milestone and wish him many more rewarding years ahead of him to continue to serve humanity in the most dignifying fashion as he had always done”.
