The Governor of Ekiti state, His Excellency, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has solicited support for all the candidates of All Progressives Congress(APC) contesting the February 25 general elections.
The Governor through his Special Adviser on Political Matters, High Chief Jide Awe on Tuesday during the continuation of Senatorial Central tour to Ekameta LCDA, Ekiti West, Okemesi/Ido-Ile LCDA and Efon LG called on party leaders and members to rally round all the candidates of the party for the upcoming general elections.
The governor showed his profound appreciation to party members for the massive votes he received during the last election and promised not to let them down. He described all the positions contested for as a must win for the party.
“Let me start by thanking you for your support at all time. The way you voted for me in the last governorship election excited me so much. We are here today to solicit for your support for all our candidates and we believe that you are going to stand by our party”
Oyebanji also called on APC party members to turn up in their large numbers to welcome APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Ekiti on February 3.
“On February 3, our candidate and incoming president of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be coming to Ekiti state. I want you to give him a rousing welcome”
Speaking on behalf of all the candidates that were present at the Senatorial Central tour, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele thanked party leaders and members for their presence at the rally. He urged them to work for the victory of all the candidates.
The Senator promised to keep to all his electoral promises. He furthered that February 25 general elections is a continuation of the votes they have casted during the last election.
Bamidele added that for their votes to be meaningful , they have to vote for all the Assembly candidates come March 11 so as to make governance at ease for the state governor.
“I thank our party members and leaders for their presence. I pray that God Almighty will crown your efforts.
“Before the primary, I came to Efon local government where I had meeting with some leaders. All that they told me to do will be done.
“I want to assure you that if elected, leaders of each respective local government under my Senatorial District will have a say on who becomes my aide. They will be the ones to give me names that I will forward to Abuja. I believe that this will put end to complaint of not seeing me all time.
“The major thing that brought us here today is to seek for your votes for all our candidates. The vote you are going to cast on February 25 is the continuation of the one you have casted on June 18.
“For your vote to be meaningful, you should vote for all our 26 House of Assembly candidates come March 11”
The Senatorial Central tour which was well attended by party leaders and members had in attendance all the NASS candidates which include, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, Hon. Fatoba Olusola Steve, Hon. Biodun Omoleye, all the Assembly candidates from the central Senatorial districts and all APC party leaders.
