The Ekiti State House of Assembly has described Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as an outstanding leader, who has penchant for development , peace and stability of the system.
The lawmakers posited that these have reflected in Oyebanji’s quintessential leadership style, and the enormous respect he has for the separation of powers.
This was contained, in a statement released by the Assembly , on Wednesday, in Ado Ekiti, congratulating the governor on his 55th birthday ceremony.
The statement, signed by the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, praised the governor for always demonstrating the exemplary virtues of humility, patience, spartan self -discipline and team spirit wherever he serves.
The assembly described Oyebanji’s life as full of accomplishments as a professional and public servant, saying this was largely responsible for the honour done him by the All Progressives Congress that adopted him as the governorship candidate in the last election.
The assembly added that Oyebanji, had etched his name in gold , not only as a governor, but as the first and committed homebased politician to ever lead Ekiti, saying this has started attracting benefits of immense stature to the state.
“We congratulate our amiable leader, Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his 55th birthday. We are particularly joyous by the quantum of outstanding achievements that you have garnered in your over five decades on the surface of the earth.
“His respect for the separation of powers is promoting democracy in Ekiti. In the assembly, Governor Oyebanji allows independence of the legislature and never interferes in the operations of the House. This is democracy in action.
“Most interesting was the fact that you at a tender age stood out among your peers, by coalescing force with illustrious Ekiti leaders to fight for the creation of our dear state that we are all savouring today.
“You are also making history as the first citizen to emerge as a governor from the ranks of those that fought assiduously for the creation of Ekiti State. This is one history that is unique.
“We also know as a fact that Ekiti people have started breathing a sigh of relief with the velocity at which you are prosecuting the continuity agenda. This is an hallmark of a good leadership.
“Within this short time, you have directed employment of teachers to fill existing vacancies in primary schools, gave loans to 280 workers, began operation light up Ekiti project , among others. These were signs that you possess the acumen and ingenuity for leadership.
“We pray that the good Lord will imbue you with knowledge, wisdom and sound health to carry out your well -encapsulated 6-point policy thrust to turn around the fortunes of the highly expectant Ekiti people around within the next four years”.
