Alawe Prays For Peace As Ilawe Community Celebrates Olokun Festival

The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti and Chairman Ekiti State Council of Tradtional Rulers,His Royal Majesty,Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, AFUNTADE 1 has enjoined all indigenes of Ilawe Ekiti to celebrate all festivals particulaly the annual Oloofin festival which is the Oba’s festival coming up on Frday, 23rd of July 2021 peacefully while observing the covid-19 protocols.

The Monarch made the appeal in his palace shortly after offering traditional prayers to God for peace and bountiful blessings for the entire Ilawe community to mark this year’s Olookun festival which symbolises the beginning of the traditional new calendar year and heralding all festivals in the ancient town.

At the occasion witnessed by traditionalists and Chiefs, the Ekiti Obas Chairman further prayed for peace in Ekiti State and an end to insecurity in Nigeria.The Alawe urged the celebrants including the youths and the elderly to be peaceful during the celebrations
