Tinubu Diaspora Support Group Begins Disbursement Of Grants To Petty Traders
A support group based in Texas, United States, Tinubu/Shettima Independent Campaign Diaspora Initiative Texas, on Friday commenced the disbursement of grants to petty traders in Lagos State to augment their capital, with the objective of helping to boost their businesses.
The coordinator of the group, Kunmi Tinubu said the decision to support the traders with grants to augment their capital was aimed at joining forces with the government to tackle the poverty level in the country.
According to him, “As an organization, we firmly believe that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima have great plans to move Nigeria forward. They have promised Nigerians progressive governance and we are optimistic that Nigerians can count on the Tinubu/Shettima presidency to deliver.
“In our little way, we are contributing by supporting petty traders in markets with grants to boost their businesses, thereby helping to complement the initiatives of the government.”
The group added that based on the achievement of the present administration of Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat so far in office as Governor and Deputy Governor of Lagos State respectively, the duo would do more in line with the greater Lagos objective if re-elected to continue the ongoing massive developmental strides in the state.
In the first phase of the disbursement of the grant, traders in Yaba and Mushin benefitted, while plans are underway to reach other traders in markets across the 57 Local Government and Local Council Development Areas of the state.
