17 Southern Governors To Meet Today In Lagos Over Kanu And Sunday Igboho

Following the recent issues of Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho, the 17 Southern Governors under the umbrella of Southern Governors’ Forum, have resolved to meet today in Lagos to discuss the security crisis arising from secessionist agitation.

According to a report, the gathering is sequel to a meeting earlier held by the South West Governors on Friday; meanwhile the meeting in Lagos today would also be addressing the outcome of the inaugural meeting that was held earlier in Asaba, Delta State, by the Southern Governors.

Recall that for the past few days now, there has been controversies in the Country resulting from the issue of secessionists.

Few days ago, the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was reportedly rearrested, and brought back to Nigeria.

Kanu had reportedly jumped bail and had being on the run since 2017 when he disappeared from Nigeria after being released on bail from the prison.

Ever since then, the government of Nigeria had being on a serious trail for him, as he had allegedly been inciting crisis in some parts of Nigeria through his uncontrolled broadcast and social media posts.

Though his case was already going on in his absence, but following his rearrests, the case which was earlier slated to be heard again on October 20, 2021, was later brought forward and adjourned to July 26 and 27, 2021.

Meanwhile there are reports currently that Kanu may be facing fresh charges, including murder, for allegedly fueling the crisis and killings in the southeast.

On a different development, the house of the popular Yoruba activist/freedom fighter, Sunday Igboho was recently raided by the Department of State Service (DSS).

During the raid, the security agents were reportedly attacked by Igboho’s men, of which some of Igboho’s men were later killed while about 13 of them were arrested.

Sunday Igboho had been so controversial recently, starting from when he first gave quit notice to Fulani herdsmen, insisting that the herdsmen have been responsible for the killings and maimings in his region.

Sunday Igboho later graduated from fighting Fulani herdsmen to fighting for the freedom of Oduduwa Republic.

On several occasions, he had organized rally/protests in some regions of Southwest.

Even after invading his house, they still went ahead for the Lagos rally earlier scheduled on Saturday; which later lead to the death of an innocent young girl whom was allegedly hit by stray bullet, while some of the protesters were also arrested.

So, considering the cases of Kanu and Igboho, you would understand that they are really causing great damages especially to the poor innocent ones whose brains have been washed by the secession leaders.

Many vibrant youths have lost their lives in the course of following Kanu and Igboho’s philosophy, and it seems many are still eager to follow them.

This is why the Government needs to do everything possible to bring these two persons to book, before they cause damages beyond repair.

I would always ask, “Secession the best/right option for solving the Problem of Nigeria?”

I don’t really think so, because Nigeria would be more better and enjoyable if we are joined as one County.
