Our Support Base Is Massive, Pose To Emerge As APC Senatorial Candidate -MATO

The leadering Senatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC for Ondo South Senatorial District in the 2023 General Elections, Mathew Oyerinmade, famously known as MATO, has assured his teeming supporters of emerging as the candidate of APC at the primary slated for May 21, 2022.

Oyerinmade, at a presentation and endorsement ceremony of his Senatorial Nomination Form before over 250 statutory delegates, including elders, leaders, ward chairmen and secretaries, Councilors, LG Excos, serving and former State legislators and political appointees, at his residence in Okeigbo at the weekend, urged his supporters not to be moved by the alleged imposition of a candidate on the people by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, stressing that the Governor has already gave his words to support only the candidates that emerged democratically through free and fair primaries.


Over 250 statutory delegates comprise of councillors, former Federal and State lawmakers, local government executives and political appointees from the six local government areas; Ilaje, Ese-Odo, Irele, Okitipupa, Odigbo and Ile-oluji-Okeigbo, all in the Ondo South Senatorial District, converged at Oyerinmade’s countryhome to endorse the Senatorial nomination form of Mathew Oyerinmade on the platform of APC.

The Okeigbo event tagged; “KNOW MATO’S DELEGATES” was attended by large supporters and delegates with a promise to vote for Oyerinmade as candidate of APC at the primary, saying that consensus or imposition of candidate will not work.

Addressing the gathering, the aspirant thanked the leaders and delegates for their massive show of love and support, promising the entire senatorial district of equitable and world-class representation like never before now.

“Let me clear the rumour about the imposition of candidate by His Excellency, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN. I met the Governor few days ago and he told me that I should go and talk to my people that he is not going to impose or favour any aspirant. He maintained that every aspirant will enjoy a level play field at the party’s primaries.

“So, rather than accusing our Talk and Do Governor, we’re sending our gratitude to the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN and the APC Chairman in the state, Engr. Ade Adetimehin for their efforts in ensuring the right and popular candidates emerged through free, fair and credible primaries across the state and consequently give room for democratic processes in choosing popular and sellable APC candidates for the 2023 General Elections.

“So, let us go into the field and curry the support of our esteemed delegates in the Senatorial District, our friends, family members and kinsmen in our local government areas to key into the MATO and secure their votes ahead of the primary later this month.

“I have instructed all my followers not to carry propaganda against any aspirant because propaganda is a modern way of telling lies, so, I don’t involve in it.

“Moreover, I have instructed my followers not to talk bad of any aspirant when they canvass for vote on my behalf. However, I want to plead with my supporters not to be distracted with propaganda and lies carrying about, about my person and aspiration by the oppositions and unpopular aspirants. For me, I am not moved by their propaganda and I want to implore my supporters to always ignore them and pray with “Iyonu Olorun” (God’s Mercy) as God will surely grant us resounding victory”, Oyerinmade stated.
