Heritagenewsng reports that, Ekiti State Government says it will sustain quality education across the public and private schools through thorough supervision, provision of teaching materials and conducive academic environment.
The Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Professor Femi Akinwumi stated this while featuring on a live radio programme ,”S’etigbo ?” sponsored by the state government to communicate achievements of Governor Fayemi in office.
Professor Akinwumi who explained that enrollment figures in the public schools have now increased tremendously in Ekiti State when compared to what was obtained in the immediate past administration , pointed out that pupils in public schools now enjoy modern facilities and instructional materials.
He said that the passion for academic excellence also distinguished Ekiti in the recent national and international competitions where teachers and students came first and second .
The SUBEB Chairman, announced that another new three set of model colleges are being constructed by Fayemi’s administration in addition to the existing four adding that more were still going to be constructed.
He listed the towns where the schools would be established to include Odo-oro Ekiti, Ikere Ekiti , Ado Ekiti adding that the step was not politically motivated but out of passion to sustain the the glory that Ekiti is known for in terms of academic excellence.
Emphasizing the need to promote and sustain the current feats achieved in education, professor Akinwumi called for total support for administration of Governor Kayode Fayemi in the interest of meaningful progress across the state .
