A heartbroken Kenyan woman has recounted how her husband went behind her back and developed a secret romantic relationship with her mother.
While speaking to Frida Mwaka and Lofty Matambo of NTV, the woman said that her husband had been having an affair with her mother for more than fifteen years.
” When I found my husband and mother and came to know that they had a relationship of more than fifteen years I asked myself a lot of questions. The first question I asked myself was what did he miss from me or what didn’t I do for him that drove him to my mother, of all the people, my mother?” posed the woman.
With teary eyes, the woman struggled to understand why her own mother would betray her and destroy her marriage. She wondered why men would be involved in such romantic relationships considered taboo by many African communities.
“Men out there what is it that you miss from your wives until you decide to have affairs with your wives’ relatives or your mothers-in-law?”
Cases of in-laws having romantic affairs are very rare in Kenya because such relationships are considered abominable.
