Ukraine, Russian War: Nigerians In Abuja stage protest

Heritagenewsng reports that some Nigerians in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja this morning staged a protest in front of the Russian embassy in Abuja over the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces.

The protesters, who included parents, friends, and loved ones of stranded and fleeing Nigerians in Ukraine, came out in numbers and pleaded with the Russian government to let peace reign.

The protesters carried placards and were heard chanting songs saying “Putin, let there be peace. We are parents of Nigerians trapped in Ukraine. ”
They also wore T-shirts that had the inscription, “Stop the war.”

They lamented the horrific reports they’ve been receiving about their loved ones being prevented from fleeing Ukraine to other countries such as Hungary, Poland, and others.
