The Initiative of a Yoruba traditionalist from Abeokuta, Bàbáláwo Bàbá King, the Oduduwa group , today , sums several thousands of Òrìṣà devotees around Europe and the Americas. Baba king conducts ritual activities in the temple, he performs the annual Ifá and Orisa festivals in Slovenia, Serbia , Italy, Germany and others . Babalorisa Adesina Salami is a proclaimer of the African indigenous religion.
Attending to the Nígerian-Yoruba Artist , writer and Journalist, Adeyinka Olaiya , the coordinator of the Oduduwa temple in Europe , Iyaolorisa Jasmina Awodiran Gbenga , said : “ It is a call from the Irumoles , and i am so delighted to have adhered to the call over 19 years ago when I was initiated in to the Òrìṣà religion , the late Babalawo Fabunmi first initiated me . Today , I have been initiated in to over 18 different Orisas , I appreciate my spiritual father , Baba king . I can boldly say that since I met Babalorisa King years back , my life changed , he redirected my paths in life , he made me see the benefits in the practice of the Yoruba religion . I organize the Isese pilgrimage around the globe . Today , thousands of devotees gather in our temples in Brazil , Abeokuta, Europe to worship the gods of the Yorubas . “ she said .
Iyalorisa Jasmina Awodiran , a national of Slovenia, Eastern Europe , revealed further that the temple In Slovenia conducts activities dedicated to various Òrìṣàs from the Yoruba pantheon, she said : “ members of the temple, the Òrìṣà devotees are blessed through the ritual performances of different aṣọ and ẹlẹ́gún costumes “ Iyalorisa Jasmina revealed the positive directions in Slovenia since the Òrìṣà religion arrived the country through Babalorisa king and the Oduduwa group in Europe. Vast in the Yoruba Oral Tradition of IFA , Iyalorisa Jasmina Awodiran, recited verses in IFA literary corpus, she sang in Yoruba to elevate the importance of Esu , the Yoruba messenger deity.
According to the Editor In Chief , Oduduwa Europe Publishers , Mrs . Maja Mesesnel said ;
“ In 2022, the Oduduwa Europe Publishing House intends to publish a book by a preeminent scholar of Ifá, bàbálórìṣà Adéṣínà Síkírù Sàlámì – Bàbá King, titled “Érìndílógún: The Voices of the Òrìṣà”. After Bascom’s, this volume constitutes a landmark in the research of Érìndílógún, the divination with 16 cowries, and the Yoruba oral tradition.
Professor Sàlámì has chronicled the sacred repertoire of several Yoruba bàbálórìṣà from the Abéòkúta and Ọ̀yọ́ regions, translated hundreds of odù of Érìndílógún into English and thoroughly interpreted them, thus providing readers with access to inestimable insights regarding Yoruba worldview, spirituality, theology, and specifics of their philosophy, all the while focusing on traditional approaches to healing and ritualistic processes.
As the odù of the divination with 16 cowries have such rich interpretive potential, the author showcases his language expertise, spiritual mastery, and deep historical and cultural familiarity with the subject.
