58 Years Old Man Docked In Court Over Alleged Cassava Theft

A 58 year old man, Mr. Yusuf Ibrahim Tanimola has been arraigned before the Magistrate High court in Ado Ekiti for forcibly entering a farm and allegedly stealing cassava worth 1 million naira.

The cassava plantation situated at Idemo area of Ado Ekiti is owned by Academic Staff Union Of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) Ekiti State chaired by Comrade Sola Adigun.

Comrade Sola Adigun had reported on countless occasion that some unknown persons has been stealing cassava in large quantities before luck ran out on Mr. Yusuf Tanimola Ibrahim on the 26/01/25 when he was allegedly caught red handed while uprooting the cassava’s and was hitherto arrested .

Mr. Yusuf who was arraigned on two count charges of forcibly entering the said property and stealing cassava worth 1 million naira contrary to section 65 of the criminal law of Ekiti state.

The defendant pleaded non guilty to the charges read to him and he was granted bail in the sum of 100,000 naira and two sureties while the case was adjourned to the 7th of March 2025.
