The Accord Party governorship candidate for the 2026 Ekiti State election, Opeyemi David Falegan, has declared his unwavering commitment to the protection, progress and security of Ekiti State, vowing to defend the state with everything within his power.
Falegan, a United Kingdom-based military officer, made the declaration in a firm and emotional statement that underscored his readiness to serve the people of Ekiti with courage, discipline and patriotism.
“I will defend Ekiti with my last breath. So help me God,” he declared.
According to him, Ekiti State deserves leadership that is driven by sacrifice, integrity and a deep sense of responsibility to the people, stressing that his military background has prepared him for the task of leadership and service.
Falegan noted that his decision to contest the governorship election under the Accord Party was motivated by his desire to bring a new brand of governance anchored on security, accountability and people-centred development.
He assured the people of Ekiti that his administration, if elected, would prioritize the safety of lives and property, economic empowerment, and the restoration of public trust in government.
“The time has come for Ekiti to be led by someone who understands sacrifice, discipline and service. I am fully prepared to give my all for the state I love,” he added.
The declaration has continued to generate reactions across political circles in Ekiti State, with supporters describing his words as a bold signal of commitment and readiness ahead of the 2026 governorship race.
