In less than three months, the people of Ekiti state will be going to the poll to elect candidates of their choice for various federal constituencies and Senatorial districts. While it is the legitimate right of eligible voters to cast their votes for candidates of their choice, it is also incumbent on them to do so wisely.
Over the years, Ekiti has been denied the opportunity of having high ranking NASS members due to the option of turn by turn representation which has only brought us setback rather than progress.
One of the major advantages of having returning lawmakers as principal officers at NASS is that, they will be more empowered to facilitate tangible projects and attract better opportunities to their constituencies.
At this juncture, I will like to plead to our eligible voters across the various constituencies to give consideration to federal lawmakers who are seeking for re-election in the likes of Hon. Fatoba Olusola Steve, Hon. Yemi Adaramodu, Hon. Femi Bamisile and Sen. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, so that these Ekiti NASS members can be opportuned of being among the leadership at both upper and lower chamber for the benefit of those they are representing.
Let’s drop the option of turn by turn representation and opt for continuity of good representation for more dividend of democracy.
