The House of Reps. ambition of former Governor Ayodele Fayose’s son, Joju suffered a set back on Friday as the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Ado-Ekiti local government withdrew their support for his ambition.

The party leadership in a press statement which was E-signed by its Publicity Secretary, Babatope Ogun, advised the son of the former governor to withdraw from the 2023 contest for the House of Reps. seat.

They accused Fayose of contributing to the poor performance of the party in the recent June 18 governorship election.

The statement reads, “Arising from the meeting of Local Govt Excos and Ward Chairmen in Ado-Ekiti on Friday 16th of September, 2022, the leadership of Ado-Ekiti PDP has advised the son of the former governor of Ekiti State Ayo Fayose to withdraw from the race in the 2023 general elections to the House of Representative of Ekiti Central Constituency 1.

“The leadership of the party in Ado-Ekiti noted that the party lost woefully in the last governorship election due to the greed and self centeredness of the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose and therefore, it is morally wrong for him or his son to be asking for support of the people of Ado-Ekiti having wrecked serious havoc on our party in the state”

“The era of using our party to siphon public funds is over. Never again will any individual be allowed to take the support of our people for granted in Ado-Ekiti. We are equally aware of his divide and rule tendencies by luring some people with his looted funds for support. Using an octogenarian to truncate the resolve of the people is dead on arrival and such will be addressed in due course”
