The governorship ambition of Engineer Segun Oni got a boost ahead of 2022 Poll as a group of stakeholders endorsed it .
The decision to support Oni’s ambition was taken a crucial meeting held in Ado-Ekiti .
Acting under the aegis of Ekiti PDP Progressives, the group maintained that Oni’s candidature was crucial to the success of the party in the 2022 Poll.
The group ,according to its coordinator, Hon Wale Ayeni made up of PDP members ,former State and national assembly members as well as members of PDP state working Committee.
The included former speaker of Ekiti state house of Assembly,Rt Hon kola oluwawole, Chief Ayo peters, a Former member of the PDP state working committee, and Mrs Modupe Adeyemi,a former State Women leader.
Also ,former Chairmen of Ikere local government, Barr Ola Alonge, his Oye counterpart Mr Tayo Ogundare. Also in attendance were Former leader of Ekiti state house of Assembly,Hon Lai Oke, Capt Olutayo Ofi(rtd), Mr Akinola, and Chief Babatope Akinyele.
The members of group who spoke one after the other urged the party leaders in attendance to close ranks and work as one united family for the emergence of Eng Segun Oni during the primary.
The stakeholders thereafter constituted a high powered contact committee to reach out to other stakeholders for another meeting that will hold in a fortnight in Ado.
Members of the team includes Tolu Roland Olanrewaju for 2019 PDP Assembly candidate, Barrister Wole Ogunlade for Former Chairmen who served during the first term of Gov Fayose, Chief Cairo and Fasuyi Sunday ( Legico) for former local government party chairmen, Hon Fagbemi Olanrewaju for immediate past councillors under Gov Fayose, Hon Alex Adeojo, former special assistant to Gov Fayose on parliamentary and Hon Olayode Omotoso to represent former lawmakers.
