2021 Youth Day: Oni’s Agenda, Best Blueprint For Ekiti Youths – Falegan

By Gbenga Sodeinde

A Chieftain of the Peoples’ Democratic Party PDP in Ekiti State Hon. Opeyemi Falegan says, if elected again, the blueprint of performance of a former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni will be enough reference point for Youths in the State to take over the mantle of power.

“There is no doubt that, Chief Oni remains the most experienced, inteligent, visionary and selfless Politician with impeccable character worthy of emulation by the younger generation in the current political scene among the avalanche or array of Aspirants jostling to take over the number one seat from the incumbent Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi in Ekiti State”.

The submission is contained in a release signed and made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti by Falegan on the Ocasion of 2021 Youth Day Celebration.

The Grassroot Mobiliser who is in his early 40’s observed that, without mincing words, political Leaders in the Country have not been given Nigerian Youths, a fair share and enough opportunity by creating a solid foundation that the younger generation could build on whenever the opportunity arose for them to govern.

“Experience, they say is the best Teacher”, therefore, inorder for Ekiti State to move towards “a real developmental direction that will assist the younger generation in the nearest future to start from; and change the face of the State, someone like Chief Segun Oni is highly desirous to lead Ekiti State as from 2022.

It is axiomatic and unambiguous that, the performance of the former Vice Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party PDP, (South West Zone) when he governed the State for just three and half years has remained matchless and second to none even more than ten years after leaving the Office.

“It could be recalled that, Chief Oni performed with great aptness and felicity despite, Court challenges which later removed him from Office through a back door of judiciary manipulation in 2010”.

The Ifaki Ekiti born Engineer turned Politician displayed a rare economy management prowess and understanding despite, the unprecedented and first of its kind economic meltdown in 2009 and 2010  through numerous development projects. Some of which the successive governments in the State have been battling with till now.

It is also on record that, the human capital development of the Oni administration especially, for youths in the State through various empowerment programmes to include; free periodic training on fishery, piggery, poultry, snail farmings in Agriculture, interlock blocks making, road marking and signs technology in construction with training allowances and immediate micro credit facilities for the Beneficiaries to start their businesses has remained incomparable in the checkered history of the State.

Hon. Falegan however called on Youths in the State to look beyond immediate but temporary dividends of Democracy and support Chief Oni who is always ready to give the People especially Youths in the State the best through a selfless and incorruptible service.

“The 2022 governorship election in the State will be another opportunity for Ekiti People especially the younger generation to redefine and reshape their future based on the decision they take at choosing the right Person to govern the State, hence the need to see and support Oni as a best option.

He however charged PDP members in the State to always be their brothers’ Keeper at all times and work in unity inorder to take over power from the present APC government in Ekiti State.
